LearnZone Quizzes

LearnZone quizzes are the most common form of a quiz on LearnZone and HELearnZone.  You will notice a QUIZ tile inside the sections of courses.  Simply click on the title of the quiz in the tile to enter the quiz.  A QUIZ tile is shown in the image below.

Once you have entered the quiz you will be able to see the details of the quiz, including the instructions, the time limit (if any) and the grading method.  For exampe, a quiz could use the highest grade or the average grade from a number of attempts.  To start the quiz simply click on the ‘Attempt quiz now’ button.

Next, you may need to confirm you want to start an attempt.  Some quizzes may have a limited number of attempts, and others may be unlimited.  If attempts are limited, make sure you have completed any required reading beforehand.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Contact your lecturer to ask where the quiz is located.  It is possible the quiz is not visible and your lecturer will need to unhide it for you to be able to make an attempt.

How do I make an attempt at a quiz.

Locate the quiz and click on the attempt button to make an attempt.

How many attempts can I have?

The number of possible attempts you can make is based on the settings selected by your lecturer.  You may be able to make unlimited attempts, or this could have been restricted to a number of attempts.

How is my score calculated?

If the quiz allows you to make a number of attempts, your score could be the highest attempt or it could be an average.  This information should be visible on the screen where you click on the attempt button.

I disagree with the answer to a question or I don't understand the question.

If you believe there is an error with one of the questions in a quiz you may wish to contact your lecturer to ask them a question or to ask them about any questions you don’t understand.

Why can't I see my feedback?

If your feedback is available, you can access this for each attempt you make.  You should be able to review your answers to each question.  If you can’t access this, it could be that the lecturer has set the answers to not be available until a certain time.  Please ask your lecturer if you don’t seem to have access.

I've run out of attempts.

You need to contact your lecturer to ask them to either extend the number of attempts you can make, or delete one of your existing attempts.

I've abandoned my attempt, can I resume it later?

As long as there was no time limit or other restrictions, you will be able to resume the quiz by locating the quiz and clicking on it to resume your attempt.
